Warm Bodies Delivers The Chills, But At Some Point Forgets To Warm You Back Up!

This modern twist on the classic forbidden love story or otherwise known as Romeo & Juliet takes you on a whirlwind of a post-apocalyptic world that is ridden with zombies and skeleton creatures called "Bonnies" all while a human resistance holds its ground within the confines of the city. The film is cute and cheeky but fails to support itself, but after all It really isn't trying to be something it isn't.

Leave Me Your Comments Below The Article Telling Me What You Thought Of Warm Bodies and If You Would Like A Sequel...

The movie opens up with a "Sex In The City" like monologue narration from the main character: R (Nicholas Holt) , a twenty something zombie who doesn't even remember how he died or what his full name was. At many point the film lacks a solid background or back story of any kind. The characters lack dept and development but it really isn't that important when it is a zombie horror, romance, and comedy all at the same time. The romantic aspect of this story is sometimes lost on the audience because it is not what you expect going in. Dave Franco (a new A-Lister) dies within the first 15 minuets and R feasts on his brains for the first half an hour and we have that typical dissonant betrayal scene when R reveal to the hot young blond that he falls for: Julie that it was him who ate her boyfriend. Julie is a rather annoying character who often disregards anything everyone says and constantly goes against R's advice even though he is often right or telling the truth. Most the time you just feel sorry for the guy. What Warm Bodies could do was deliver quick blasts of humor that came across not as laugh-out-loud but witty and as far as I could tell the film was very cleverly written. Being a PG-13 film, the movie delivers the most clever one time use of "F--k" I have ever witnessed.

The chaos ensures when a very hungry for life R falls for Julie (Teresa Palmer) who happens to be the daughter of none other than the zombie resistance leader: played by a very plain and rather mellow but not out of character John Malkovich. The two together fall heavily in love by the end of the film and this acts as a disease that contaminates the other zombies and in the end the zombies and humans must team up with help from the magical power of love to fight of the hordes of "Bonnies".

Warm Bodies was cutesy and cliche-ic and a beautiful soundtrack was provided to illustrate the connecting between human and one struggling to be alive. At sometimes you might be left wanting more, but mostly you will laugh, feel for the characters, and be shocked when they pull out the really gruesome stuff because it gets quiet graphic and jumpy. B

Nicholas Holt is off to a very good start of a Hollywood career. After playing The Beast in 2011's "X-Men: First Class" Holt has landed some high-budget Blockbuster films such as "Warm Bodies" and the soon to come "Jack the Giant Killer" in which he plays the title character and I can not wait to see because it honestly looks like a wickedly fun ride. Holt unlike that of 2012's failure: Taylor Kitisch who stared in the biggest flops of the year and was the only thing they had in common ("Battleship", "Savages", and "John Carter"). Holt is a young hot actor who has a lot cut out for him and, to me, it looks like this going to be a very good year for Nicholas Holt and I can not wait for "X Men: First Class 2"
